The Generalist Superpower: What Happens When You Refuse to Pick a Lane
I’ve spent my career in the space between creativity and technology.
Musician. Creative director. Composer. Developer. Producer. The person who figures out how to make the thing work when nobody else wants to touch it.
I’ve never been a specialist. I’ve been the one who learns enough about everything to connect the dots — audio production, design, visuals, code, now AI. Whatever the project needs.
Some people call this being a “generalist” like it’s a weakness. I’ve found it’s a superpower. The best ideas usually live at the intersections.
Where I am now
These days I’m deep in AI tools, building apps without writing traditional code, and still making music when the mood strikes. I’m experimenting with AI music tools too — not to replace the creative process, but to understand how these tools are reshaping it.
I’m also exploring new ways of working, like using AI assistants for research-heavy freelance writing.
What I’ll be sharing
- Building with AI (what actually works, what’s hype)
- Creative workflows on Mac
- The messy reality of shipping projects
- Where music and technology collide
If you’re a fellow generalist, or just curious about what happens when you refuse to pick a lane — let’s connect. The best conversations happen between people who can’t be easily categorized.
